Behind the Scenes: The Oxobox Method for Data Management
The Oxobox ingestion process begins when a disk is received and ingested into Oxobox’s server. Our system automatically initiates the Cron ingest process, checking the Oxocloud file structure and performing a checksum control using .mhl files to ensure data integrity. The server then connects to S3 to check for new files and synchronizes the original assets with the S3 bucket. New assets are declared in the Digital Asset Management (DAM) System, and XML metadata from the movie slate program is matched to enrich the metadata. The system displays the file sync status both for individual assets and grouped assets, such as a full shooting day. Finally, versions of the files are prepared for proxy purposes (H.264 for video and MP3 for audio), and comprehensive reports and asset lists are generated to keep everything organized and accessible.
Dailies Multicam Player: Seamless Multicam Playback and Control
The Dailies Multicam Player from Oxobox provides a powerful interface that displays every uploaded asset in your Amazon S3 Bucket. Assets related to the same chapter, scene, shot, and take are automatically linked, allowing for effortless navigation. By right-clicking on any asset from the same take and selecting Open Multicam Player, a new page opens with a player that loads all related assets. For example, you can view four synchronized audio tracks and two camera angles simultaneously. The Smart Tracks feature ensures that every asset opens on a different track, perfectly synchronized using the timecode embedded in the metadata.
With built-in tools to flip camera images horizontally and vertically, and the ability to mute or solo individual audio channels, the player offers full flexibility. By pressing Shift and clicking on any audio channel, you can control all audio tracks at once, making it easy to adjust your audio mix in real time.
